Responsibilities:
As a Cashier, your tasks will include:
- Operating the cash register
- Processing money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments
- Scanning items
- Tabulating total payment for goods or services required
- Receiving payment for goods or services
- Calculating daily/shift payments received and reconciling with total sales
- Suggestive selling
- Stocking shelves and cleaning counter area
- Greeting customers
- Wrapping or placing merchandise in bags
- Providing customer service
- Calculating foreign currency exchange
- Monitoring all entrances and exits, requesting proof of payment when necessary
- Participating in promotional activities
- Verifying the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products

- Computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering system
